Cedarwood super stars

GLENFERNESS – Two pupils of Cedarwood School made their teachers and parents particularly proud after doing exceptionally well in their respective sports.

“They stood head and shoulders above the rest,” said spokesperson for the school, Dawn Schmitz. “Not only in their school, but also in competition with children from other schools.”

Roraigh Browne, a Grade 4 pupil at the school participated in the Iron Man Qualifier competition at St Peters Preparatory School. “This involved swimming a distances of a mile – 60 lengths of a school-sized swimming pool – which he completed, and has now qualified to participate in the Iron Man,” Schmitz continued.

“Seth Arends, Grade 5, outclassed more than 40 other children on the same day to become the U13 bowler of the tournament at Summit College.”

This involved playing for his school in a six-a-side cricket tournament in which his team played three matches. Arends took a total of five wickets, leaving his closest competition languishing at three wickets. “And, surely, in the process earning himself the title of Terror of the Tournament,” concluded Schmitz.
