Tough race a success

JOBURG NORTH - The Rand Athletic Club and City Lodge held their annual Tough One race.

The 32 kilometre road race traverses the streets of Northern Johannesburg through Fourways, Bryanston and Randburg finally ending at the Old Parktonian Sports Club in Bordeaux.

The race is sponsored by the City Lodge Hotel group and is one of the biggest and longest standing road races in Gauteng.

Over 5000 runners competed in the race this year which is the largest number of entries the Tough One has ever received.

The contestants were lucky to run in good weather conditions and convenient water stops and support from friends and family made the race a fun one.

Peter Schoeman, divisional director of sales and marketing at City Lodge said, “Road running continues to be extremely popular in our city and our country and it is great to see South Africans of all races, genders, ages and sizes participating so enthusiastically in this annual event.”
