Bryanston Post Office woes continue

Lonehill resident Alan Collins writes:

Following the article, Mail from the Bryanston Post Office is being redirected, in the Sandton Chronicle, Week ending 20 November, I went to Bryanston West Post Office this morning.

I was told that they ‘do not deal with mail here’ and I must wait for my mail until the new alternative site for Bryanston Post Office (at Sloane Square) opens in December.

I was further informed to phone the telephone number of ‘Mike’ as given on the noticeboard at the post office, and I told him [the person who gave contact details for ‘Mike’] I had [tried] that number, but nobody answers.

However, when I got home I phoned the number and ‘Mike’ answered it. He confirmed the story and told me no mail could be delivered to boxes until the new site was ready in the first week of December.

Our original post box keys will work and we don’t need to change our postal addresses. This will now be two months without mail. He told me the landlord has closed the premises to the post office at Bryanston. That’s why it’s closed.
