Former head boy at Pinnacle College Kyalami thanks his teachers for shaping his leadership skills

Lehlohonolo said although the Covid-19 pandemic was the worst thing to happen in living history it also helped them as learners find new ways of effective learning.

Former head boy at Pinnacle College Kyalami, Lehlohonolo Moeletsi said being in the position of leadership at the school has helped him grow and become a better person.

Lehlohonolo was part of the matric class of 2022 and he was also among those who passed with flying colours. He praised his teachers at the school for shaping his future and leadership skills.

He will be pursuing a degree in computer science at the University of Pretoria next year. “As a head prefect, you get exposed to a number of problems that you have to deal with. I believe that being in this position has shaped my leadership skills. My journey as head prefect and Grade 12 learner has not been easy because I had to deal with a lot of learner issues.

“One of the things I’ve learned is that it is not difficult to excel in all your responsibilities if you are well-organised as a person. I also learned that problems and challenges will always be there whether we have more or less responsibilities, we just need to be mentally prepared to deal with any situation.”

He said while the Covid-19 pandemic was challenging, it helped them as learners find new ways of effective learning. “When we were in Grade 10 the world was forced to find new ways of living as a result of the pandemic and learners were forced to find new ways of learning. This made me realise that it was possible for human beings to overcome challenging situations,” he said.
