Rasekhokha recounts his journey from the football field to the music studio, and the lessons he learned about perseverance, creativity, and staying true to oneself.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, and Machine Gun Kelly, he found himself gravitating towards a new style, one that resonated with the energy and swagger of these American rap icons.

“Then as time went by I switch to South African musicians like Kwesta reason being his voice and ability to put life into an instrument. I might not say I had a role model but somehow my music making ability was vaguely influenced by former Ambitiouz Entertainment artist Sjava and I even got the chance to go on a radio tour with him as he pushed his first single with the label “ekseni”. I had a great experience as I learnt a lot about music making and the business as well.”

From the depth of his heart, Rasekhokha crafts songs that empower his fans to be bold, take risks, and pursue their passions. He says he want his music to serve as a testament to the power of daring to dream and never giving up.

“I never write about the things I haven’t been through or things I don’t have. My music has no age restrictions because I never use strong language on my songs, my sound is always accommodating and inspiring.

“Most people are afraid to take risks and are still stuck on the mentality that if you from the villages you have to be a teacher, nurse or a doctor. I chose what makes me happy and what I’m passionate about – music. I come from a disadvantaged village, Kgwekgwe in Bolobedu, Limpopo but I am proud to have traveled a lot in most parts of the country including Zimbabwe twice.”

This spring, Rasekhokha has a treat in store for fans – brand new music to coincide with the festive season. As the celebrations approach, Rasekhokha is gearing up to release fresh tracks to get everyone in the mood.

“I took a break and that slowed down my consistency but I’m glad to announce that I’ll be back in full force as I have more work to share this season. I know for a fact my come up shall hit stardom this time around for I have more knowledge and insights about the business as a whole.”
