This year, Bukhosi Phakathi from Nandos Crown Mines walked away with the Central Region Griller Challenge prize, while Sibongire Njiko and Kelvin Dube both walked away as second and third-best grillers on the day, respectively.

The Grillers’ Challenge is a platform for Nandos grillers to showcase and improve their skills when they compete with other grillers all over the world. Nando’s purpose is to change lives, and this initiative not only does that by exposing grillers to different experiences and incredible prizes, but by encouraging staff to keep the Nandos’ standards of chicken high.

It shows we are doing something great, unfortunately, we don’t have a griller representing us in the competition, but it inspires and motivates us to know that we can also do it going forward.”

Phakathi and the second runner-up Njiko both automatically qualify for the national finals, third-place Dube will stand a chance to qualify in a national third-place draw and qualify to participate in the national finals. All eyes will be on the nationals as the winner will have an opportunity to represent the country in the hottest competition finals in Malaysia.
