Local councillor commends Curro Group for funding local roads improvement project

Local councillor said he believes that public and private partnerships can help improve service delivery in the community

Ward 106 councillor Chris Santana has commended independent school network Curro Group for funding the construction of a slip road at the corner of Leslie Avenue and Douglasdale Drive.

Santana said the project was completed after it was approved by the Johannesburg Roads Agency and the City of Johannesburg Department of Transport.

He visited the construction site on August 19 to check on the progress of the project that started early this month.

“We really appreciate Curro Group for giving back to the community by funding this project… The group is also funding another road expansion and paving project on Hornbill Road that will allow a smooth flow of traffic in the area.
“This is a spectacular example of effective public and private partnership. I think we need to encourage more partnerships of this nature between government and private sector to accelerate service delivery.”
