Fans traveling to the high-stakes rugby match at Emirates Airline Park are advised to prepare for road closures and traffic impact throughout the event.

As excitement mounts for the rugby clash between South Africa’s Springboks and New Zealand’s All Blacks at Emirates Airline Park, motorists in Johannesburg are cautioned about significant road closures. The closure period is scheduled to begin at 22:00 on August 30, and will last until 22:00 on August 31.

Rea Vaya Bus service on game day

The City of Johannesburg’s Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transit system will be operational on game day, featuring:

1. Trunk (T1) Service* connecting Thokoza Park Rea Vaya station to Emerald Airlink Park from 05:00 to 19:00.
2. Complimentary (C1) Service running from Dobsonville Integrated Public Transport Interchange to the corner of Voorhout & Princess Streets from 05:00 to 19:00.
3. T1 and C1 services will provide access at Ellis Park East Rea Vaya Station and the intersection of Voorhout and Princess Streets.
4. A frequency of approximately 15 minutes is anticipated from 09:00 until the last bus departs at 19:00.
5. Patrons can purchase a R30 single trip card at Rea Vaya stations, and standard distance-based smart cards are also valid.
6. A team member will be present at the Venue Operations Centre for assistance.
7. Dedicated lanes will exclusively serve Rea Vaya transit, restricting other public transport.
