The executive head of the school Dumisani Kunene could not help but beam with pride as he described the day and its purpose.

“We live in an era where people must start exploring different careers at a young age, as this will equip them to make better and informed decisions later on in life. Our Grade 7 students had a fantastic day learning about different careers, some of which would never have made it in the mainstream platform before.

“Thanks to our 21st century approach, all careers are considered important and beneficial for our divergent group of learners. We had the Pink Chef, a professional footballer, videographer, and software engineer to name but a few.

“The presenters were astounded by some of the questions the learners asked during the presentations. The learners gained a great deal of information and thanked the staff for organising such an exciting event.”

The school’s marketer, Leelyn Olifant, said the event was a testament to the belief that children should be empowered to explore, create, and innovate without the constraints of traditional career stereotypes.

“The Grade 7 careers day was a celebration of the school’s dedication to providing students with the tools to navigate the diverse landscape of modern careers, encouraging them to envision a future where their aspirations are not confined by traditional norms but are fueled by their ingenuity and determination.”
