Dylan Adams sets his sights on the Olympics

With the inter-high athletics meeting approaching, Dylan Adams is confident and focused on achieving his goals.

As the athletics season reaches its climax, one young star is shining brighter than the rest.
Dylan Adams, an U15 sprinter has been making waves on the track with his performances.
With the inter-high athletics meeting just around the corner, Dylan from Fourways who attends Rand Park High School, is gearing up to take on the best of the best at Germiston Stadium on August 13.

Throughout the season, Dylan has consistently pushed himself to new heights and achieved impressive personal bests in the 100m, 200m, and 400m events. His times of 11.50s, 23.36s and 53.34s respectively, reflect his speed, agility, and dedication to being the best.

As he prepares to face off against top athletes from schools such as Fourways, Northcliff and Queens high schools, he is confident in his abilities.
“It feels great to finally find out that all the hard work l put in is paying off,” he said. “This motivates me to set new goals and keep improving. The love l have for the sport is what drives my dedication and the surge l have to become one of the best in the world.
“My goal for the 100 is to drop my time, hopefully to 11.26 and my 200 to 22.52 and my 400m, which is my best event, to 50.11. Those are my goals heading into inter-high. I am quite confident that with all the training l have been doing, my goals are achievable.”

He added his biggest supporters were his uncle and dad. “They the ones who motivate me every day whenever l feel like giving up. They also make sure that l go to the right facilities for training and have the best equipment.”
He concluded his sights were set firmly on the ultimate prize – the Olympics.
