Said Golf Day aims to raise vital funds for animals in need

The event is expected to draw 128 golfers, including CEOs and executives, and will feature a four-ball alliance game and an auction with luxury items.

The annual Said Golf Day is set to take place, bringing together 128 affluent golfers, including CEOs and executives, to raise vital funds for animal welfare.

The event, organised by the Society for Animals in Distress (Said), aims to generate crucial funding for veterinary care in impoverished communities, and will take place on September 5 at Dainfern Golf Estate.

“The golf day is our single largest fundraiser of the year, and we’re thrilled to see such a great turnout,” said Keshvi Nair, a fundraising manager at the organisation.

“The support from our sponsors and participants is invaluable in helping us continue our mission to provide accessible veterinary care to those who need it most.”

The event promises to be an exciting and competitive day of golf, with participants vying for top honors. However, the true winners will be the animals in need, who will benefit from the funds raised.

Nair said the shotgun start format will see 32 four-ball teams compete in a four-ball alliance game, with two scores to count.

“We’re grateful for the generosity of our sponsors, who have donated some incredible items for our auction. From luxury experiences to high-end products, there’s something for everyone. And with all proceeds going directly towards our animal welfare programmes, participants can feel good about their contributions.”

A heartfelt reminder of the lives touched by Said’s services will be brought to the course during the first half of the event to allow participants to see firsthand the animals benefiting from their support.

Nair said this powerful and emotional connection will undoubtedly inspire further contributions and involvement in their programmes.

“The golf day is not only about raising funds, but also about raising awareness of the importance of animal welfare. By bringing together like-minded individuals and organizations, we can make a real difference in the lives of animals in need.”

With limited spaces remaining, interested parties are encouraged to secure their spot quickly. Corporates can also support the event through hole sponsorship, four-ball prizes, or auction contributions, enhancing their CSR efforts, and showcasing their brand to a distinguished audience.

“The impact of this event will be felt long after the golf day is over. We’re grateful for the support and look forward to a successful event.”
