HeronBridge College’s next generation of leaders

The school is welcoming new student leaders for 2025. The outgoing head girl and head boy are passing on their roles to newly elected students, Hannah Currie as head girl and Caleb Webb as head boy, along with their deputies.

When it’s time for the oldest students to start thinking about leaving school, it’s also time for new leaders to take charge. As the class of 2024 at HeronBridge College (HBC) prepares to bid farewell to their beloved school, the head girl and head boy stand ready to pass on their important duties to new students, who will help and guide their fellow students going forward.

This is an exciting change for the school, as new students get to lead and make a difference.

The school recently held a special assembly, where the student body had the opportunity to participate in a live voting process to select their leaders for next year.

Candice Gibson, who is the head of marketing of the school, said that this student-led initiative ensures that the chosen leaders are well-known, respected, and appreciated by their peers and staff.

The chosen few were given a warm welcome as they assumed their positions as leaders of the school.

“We are incredibly proud of our newly elected student leaders for 2025. Many of them have journeyed through HBC from as early as Grade R! Watching our young learners grow into heart led leaders is a testament to the nurturing environment at HBC. There is something truly special about an HBC heart, and we eagerly anticipate our student leaders sharing theirs in 2025.”

Hannah Currie is taking the role of a head girl, with Kamsi Nwachukwu and Zoë Opaleye as her deputies. On the other hand, Caleb Webb is the head boy, and to assist him in his role as deputies are Tomi Adegelu and Daniel Malakiya.

Gibson said, “congratulations to these amazing learners, and we would like to send a big thank you to our learners for choosing to start their education journey with HeronBridge College.”
