“We want to continue the former late president“s legacy of Ubuntu and giving back to the community. We chose them because they handle multiple centres which consist of an elderly care centre, mother- and-child centre, rehabilitation centre, as well as an animal rescue. The previous year we worked with Woodrock which is an animal rescue where we accumulated over R20 000 worth of dog food.”

Gerda Bekker, who is the director of the organisation said, “We cannot thank them enough; this is a huge donation and it is going to go far. So how it works from our side is that we are going to split it among the centres. As an organisation, we have 11 homes and this is a huge blessing. We appreciate the efforts.”

Various community members were also present at the centre to revamp its aesthetics by painting.
