Witkoppen Clinic raised R500 000 to provide free consultations and medications for underserved patients.

On July 18, Witkoppen Clinic celebrated Nelson Mandela Day by launching a campaign to raise
R67 000, symbolizing 67 minutes of service to others. The clinic aimed to provide consultation fees for patients who cannot afford them. With the generosity of individuals and businesses, the clinic exceeded its goal and raised an impressive R500 000.

“We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our community. It’s a testament to the power of collaboration and the impact we can have when we work together towards a common goal,” said Deneo Serote, business development manager at Witkoppen Clinic.

Merrow Down Charity Club and other individuals also made substantial donations. As a result, the clinic was able to provide free consultations and medications to the first 60 patients on the day.

The clinic also received a visit from the Randburg United Long and Local Taxi Association, which partnered with Halfway Toyota to paint the walls of the Preventative Department and donated 35 food parcels to Extended Public Works Programme staff. Rompco employees also attended the clinic, painting the ER consultation room and dentist waiting area.
