Ward 93 residents get educated on city services

City of Joburg entities and departments come out in numbers to educate residents from Ward 93 on the city services.

Ward 93 councillor Vino Reddy was pleased by the presence of representatives from various entities and departments of the city in his ward.

“We are doing an educational drive by bringing the city entities and departments closer to the people. Intending to educate residents on what each does, we want residents to understand that each department is responsible for certain services and how they can contact them,” said Reddy.

The session was held at Fourways Crossing Shopping Centre, with representatives from JMPD, City Power, Johannesburg Water, Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA), Social Development, City Parks and Zoo, Pikitup, and many more, on hand to share information and answer questions from residents.

“This event is structured to provide a platform for residents to ask questions, seek clarification on various issues, and get hands-on assistance with registration for various city services,” added Reddy.

Residents were also able to familiarise themselves with the services offered by various entities through exhibits.

Mary Morwaswi from the City of Joburg, who organised the event, commented on the turnout of Fourways residents and the importance of attending this session.

“City of Johannesburg entities and departments come here and educate residents about the services of each department and how to get hold of them. We do these campaigns every week across all 15 wards in Region A, and here in Fourways there are always hardly ever any people. We go to each ward twice a year and we hope next time we will have a bigger turnout. ”
