Andrew wins swanky wheels during competition

Andrew Jennings was completely taken by surprise when he won a brand new car from the SA Guide-Dogs Association.

Andrew Jennings drove all the way with excitement from Benoni to Fourways to claim his prize. His journey was prompted by his success in winning the car raffle competition hosted by the SA Guide-Dogs Association.

Jennings decided to enter the competition in March this year. While going about his day and watching a soccer match, he noticed a number that caught his attention. It seemed familiar, but he could not quite place where he had seen it before.

Shortly after, he received a phone call informing him that he held a winning ticket. Jennings won a Suzuki Swift and is ecstatic.

“It was so surreal. I thought the call was probably a spam. I answered it anyway and was told that I had won a car. It is not often that I win something, and if you do win something as big as a car it is quite an event in your life.”

He said the timing of his winning could not have been better. Jennings is feeling incredibly relieved because his son, Travis, is now a 17-year-old and has already passed his driver’s licence. He said they had been eagerly planning to purchase a car for him.

Jennings added that he became aware of the competition through the SA Guide-Dogs Association, which holds annual draws. Intrigued by the cause, he said he always ensured to purchase a ticket each year to participate in the competition.

“I am so excited that I have won a car especially for my son. He is also excited that he will be driving this car. It is a perfect model for him.”

The association has recently announced the launch of its annual Suzuki SA car raffle competition which is set to close in March next year.

The car raffle offers participants the opportunity not only to win an incredible prize but also to contribute to a crucial fundraising effort. This initiative supports the training of assistance dogs and the provision of essential services to individuals who are visually impaired, physically disabled, and children on the autism spectrum.
