“What this is about is helping people in need. This is one of RE/Max’s annual charity events. I must say Jozi people in Fourways have a heart of gold; we managed to collect a lot of donations,” said Susan Mottram, the organiser of the charity drive.

“We will deliver them to the Johannesburg Organisation of Services to the Homeless (Josh) and Cradle of Hope charity homes. They are both registered charity homes that look after homeless people.

“In these freezing temperatures I am grateful we have a platform to help others in need.”

The response was overwhelming, with the community delivering a vast array of goods to the designated collection point at On a Roll restaurant.
“It’s a wonderful reminder that our community cares deeply about those in need. We are grateful to all who participated and donated to this worthy cause.

“Even though the weather was freezing, warm-hearted people came out in numbers to donate to people in need and animals,” said Lyn Ras, owner of On a Roll restaurant and co-sponsor of the charity drive.

“We are thrilled with the response to our charity drive. We filled six big boxes and many bags of food, clothes, and blankets,” added Mottram.
