Fourways Gardens Estate celebrates Slipper Day, joining the Reach for a Dream charity to support children with life-threatening illnesses.

On May 31, the Fourways Gardens Estate community came together to celebrate a unique and fun fundraising event, Slipper Day, in support of Reach for a Dream, a non-profit organisation that helps children fight life-threatening illnesses.

The event saw residents wear their slippers and Slipper Day stickers, raising awareness and funds for the organisation’s vital work. Slippers Day is an annual initiative that brings people from all walks of life together to make a difference in the lives of children who are facing serious health challenges.

“The event encourages everyone to participate by wearing their favourite slippers and buying a special R20 slipper day sticker to show support for a cause. It’s a simple yet powerful way to show support and solidarity with these brave young individuals,” explained Elmine Clarke, the communication officer.

The estate community enthusiastically embraced the idea, with many residents donning their comfortable slippers and stickers to show their support.

Reach for a Dream is a non-profit organisation that has been making a difference in the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses since 1998. The organisation’s mission is to provide hope, joy, and comfort to these young heroes, and its work has had a profound impact on the lives of thousands of children and their families.

”The funds raised through Slipper Day will go towards supporting Reach for a Dream’s various programmes, including granting wishes to children who are battling serious illnesses, providing financial assistance to families in need, and promoting awareness about the importance of organ donation,” added Clarke.
