VOX POP: Youths comment on the importance of Youth Day

The paper spoke to youths asking if they still feel like Youth Day is still relevant to them.

With Youth Day upon us, we asked the youth within the community if they felt the goals the memorial holiday hopes to achieve are being met.

This is what they had to say …

Oluhle Daliwonga: Yes, I think the day is still relevant but not as it used to be. Now people don’t even celebrate the day.

Lutta Franko: Youth Day is important yes, but I don’t think it still relevant and celebrated like it used to be. The new generation does not even know why we have Youth Day.
