MMA fighter on an undefeated streak

Gift The Day Walkers current streak is nine wins.

A fighter does not only have the skills to be in the ring but needs to also be able to roar when life pulls him in different directions.

Gift ‘The Day’ Walker has been a fighter for 12 years and his challenges have never stopped him from entering the ring and bringing the best of himself to the cage.

He has been in the EFC Institute for two and a half years and holds the MMA record of 5-0-0 (Win-Loss-Draw). His current streak stands at nine wins.

The MMA pro fighter said his biggest achievement in life is waking up doing what he loves to do. “I feel like I am finally living my dreams. I am glad I can enjoy this time in my life with my family who are my biggest supporters.”

He has fought several well-known fighters including Terence Balelo and the Black Panther.

“I love how unpredictable this sport is. You never really know what is going to happen. Anything can happen to anyone and that is why it’s exciting and fun. It is crazy fun.”

The 24-year-old said he loves being a mixed martial arts fighter which means everything to him. “In the earlier stages of life, I knew I wanted to be in a ring. It is a blessing to see all that unfold,” he said.

“The EFC is the only promotion in Africa and for the longest time, it has had some super awesome legends I have always loved to fight with and for.”

According to the fighter, when you leave the ring, you are bound to be hurt, but that is how fighting is. “I have been super blessed that in all my injuries I do not have any that have stopped me from fighting. I am sure all athletes have injuries, but I feel blessed to still have another day to fight.”
