Boxer supports the police with victim friendly facility donations

The donations included children’s chairs, various stationery and colouring books, refreshments, fridges, television, toiletries, toys, blankets, towels and a bed.

Diepsloot Police Station received a generous donation from Boxer.

This comes after a campaign the retail company embarked on to help various police stations around the country. The donation was made to the Victim Friendly Facilities (VFF) of each station.

According to the company’s marketing communication liaison Jason McCall, this initiative was a way of giving back.
“VFFs provide victims of crime, especially sexual offences and other serious and violent crimes, care when visiting a police station to report the crime.

“These facilities serve to offer dignity and ensure that the victim is empowered and not subjected to any possible secondary victimisation by possible inefficiencies during the process.”

All the stations were assisted with painting the premises and donations included children’s chairs, various stationery and colouring books, refreshments such as cake, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and items including fridges, television, toiletries, toys, blankets, towels and beds.

“We are proud to assist the police with renovations to the facilities and would like to thank the many men and women in the police who dedicate their lives to ensuring our communities are looked after and where those who seek to commit crimes are sought out and arrested. These VFFs play a vital role in helping victims of traumatic experiences,” said Boxer Group executive for stakeholder engagement and sustainability, Ntombi Dludla.
