Residents make use of final voting registration weekend ahead of the national elections

More than 100 people registered at Witkoppen Primary over the final registration weekend.

Community members of Fourways came out in numbers during the final voting registration weekend this past weekend.

Parliamentary parties campaigned in the area recruiting members to join them. Most community members complained that the IEC website was having difficulties. “I could not change my address online I therefore needed to find a voting station nearby to go and register. When I arrived, I was assisted very well,” said Loiuse Oliver.

On February 4 at 14:47, Crawford Lonehill had already assisted 73 people who had registered to vote.
On February 3, 50 people registered at Witkoppen Primary School, and the following day by 14:00 59 people registered to vote.

“Since the website was not working, I think people should be given one last weekend to register,” said Oliver.
