Kiddies shows off with high-end fashion on the runway

International Casting Fashion Kids gave aspirant models a chance to show off their skills during a show in Fourways.

The International Casting Fashion Kids launched its first audition casting on November 18 at the Monte La Vue Boutique Hotel in Fourways which saw more than fifty fashion enthusiasts from all over the country in attendance.

The casting director of the agency Mervin Marvey was left in awe by the success of the event. “This was such an incredible day, and we thank all the modelling schools who prepared and sent their students to audition. We as the selection panel were incredibly impressed with the talent of South African kids who have an overwhelming love for fashion, the arts, and performance.”

He said what made the show even more exciting for him was the fact that the rich and famous were also present to witness the young talent.

“Miss South Africa Top 12, 2023, Lebohang Raputsoe, award-winning designer Nadine Marx, and model Yolanda Mukondeleli are some of the stars who were part of the selection panel. Keaoleboga Ontlametse Nkashe who is a model, celebrity host, and a Top 8 Miss SA Finalist in 2023, was the MC.”

CFK is a casting house that will select the official kid-cast consisting of South Africa’s most talented Top 12 from all provinces and train them, develop their runway performance, and provide them with the opportunity to be the chosen 12 to represent South Africa internationally in 2024, Marvey explained.

The impressed Mervin Marvey addresses the guests while dressed up to express his gratitude.

He added that the event was the first of its kind to be inclusive of all models and kids.

“We are looking at dismantling the ills and norms of the fashion and modelling industry that have set so many barriers. In a world where there are height restrictions, weight requirements, and accommodating only the ‘able’ bodied, we are here to break those boundaries by moulding, accepting, and mentoring those that are differently abled, our visually impaired, physically challenged kids and aspiring models to be part of this incredible opportunity and venture for all talented kids and artists.”

Eden Harris looks all kinds of fabulous.

He said they are working on preparing and providing 12 kids the opportunity and platform to represent South Africa on international runways in Colombia Fashion Kids in Bogota, Colombia in South America, and Orlando Fashion Kids in Orlando Florida in the US.

“ICFK is open to any sponsors or investment companies who would find this an opportunity to support South African talent and make their dreams a reality through sponsorships and endorsements. The purpose of ICFK is to continue partnering with social organisations, lead through charitable engagements, and support philanthropic initiatives, especially those involving women and children.”
