Co-workers leave office work for a good cause

MRI Software Team left their office to go and clean up the streets in Fourways.

Co-workers left their place of work and rolled up their sleeves to clean up the streets in Fourways. Every quarter, according to the training specialist, Tayla Hammond from MRI Software company, they dedicate a week for their team to engage in activities that are in the best interest of the community.

Hammond explained how the idea came about. “We call it a Spirit Week and arrange it for our colleagues at MRI Software to enjoy various activities on offer. This year’s quarter theme was ‘Giving Back’, where we took part in initiatives such as donating blood, spending time at charitable organisations, and cleaning up our community.”

That is why on November 16, the workers of the company hit the streets in Fourways with garbage bags to clean it all up.

Odette van Rooyen and Shalya Prem are hard at work for a good cause.

“We reached out to Lovemore Robson and asked him if he would be able to assist us with a community clean-up in the area near our offices. We met at the Sand River near the Chilli Lane Shopping Centre in Sunninghill on November 16, where we spent two hours cleaning up along the street and river.
” It was an eye-opener seeing how much rubbish fills our community, waterways, and landfills. We managed to collect over 20 bags of waste.”

“We worked with Live Life Always – Litter Cleanups JHB South Africa to help clean up around the Sunninghill area. It was such a wonderful opportunity to give back and help keep our community and planet clean. A big thank you from MRI Lovemore and his team at Live Life Always.”

The team is also waiting with great anticipation for Spirit Week next year.
