Downs poised to fly even higher in DStv Premiership
Mamelodi Sundowns is bolstering its ammunition with a Red Bull partnership as it seeks to clinch its historic 8th DStv Premiership title in a row.
Mamelodi Sundowns has acquired feathered wings to help it even fly higher in the DStv Premiership.
The Tshwane side has partnered with Red Bull, whose slogan is ‘Red Bull gives you wings’, as it bolsters its ammunition in an endeavour to clinch an 8th championship title of the DStv Premiership in a row.
Already, the Brazilians have put themselves in a commanding position in the league after amassing a total of 18 points from straight six wins, opening a gap of eight points from its nearest rival, Lamontville Golden Arrows with 10 points though with one game in hand.
The partnership – which was facilitated by Roc Nation Sports International – sees two iconic brands join forces as Red Bull aims to give wings to the players, fans and technical team at Masandawana, a club that lives by the motto of ‘The Sky is the Limit’.
With Red Bull wings, the sky seems to be the only limit for the already flying Bafana ba Style with seven with an unprecedented seventh premiership league title in its already-running-out-of-space trophy cabinet, with an unmatched status as the leading club in South Africa with a record 13 PSL titles.
Additionally, in February this year, the Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies’ side was named the Best Women’s Club in Africa by the International Federation of Football and Statistics (IFFHS) for 2022.
As the Brazilians continue to strive for ‘limitless’ success on and off the field, the club recognised a natural synergy to partner with Red Bull, a brand synonymous with world-class athletes and teams throughout the world of sport.
Sundowns president Tlhopie Motsepe described Red Bull’s teaming up with Mamelodi Sundowns, in what is their first football partnership in South Africa, as a perfect match.
