Adopt a furry friend at Woodrock

Find an adorable friend to adopt at the Fourways Crossing pop-up shop.

Woodrock Animal Rescue has set up a Pup Pop-Up centre at The Fourways Crossing.

Locals are invited to have an opportunity to find a furry friend at the Woodrock pop-up shop between 09:00 and 14:00 every Saturday at Fourways Crossing.

This time Woodrock has two furry cuties and one of them is Bailey, who has improved remarkably after she came into the shelter in a terrible state. She had been in labour for days, and unfortunately, her babies did not make it, said Jayme Abbot from the shelter.

“Bailey had to be rushed to a vet where she started her long road of recovery. Bailey has come leaps and bounds and is such a kind soul. She has a real mommy approach to life. This soft nature beauty deserves a loving home.”

Bailey is a mixed female breed and only three years old.

She is good with kids, people, and other dogs, while Barney, the second one, who is a little white panda, had his smooth way into the shelter. Jayme describes him as an adorable chap.

“He is round all over and has the most adorable little ears which hop as he struts around. He loves cuddles but is a typical Pekingese. He plays with his three friends all day so a home with a ‘peke’ friend would be the first choice.”

If you would like to adopt an animal, you will be required to fill out a screening questionnaire and have a home visit before the dog can be taken home. The cost of the adoption is R1 400 per dog, which includes sterilisation. If you would like to have two, the fee is R2 100, while R2 800 is for three dogs.

Woodrock cofounder Stella Meldau emphasised the fact that they are a pro-life organisation committed to the safe rehoming of animals.
