“We spent many months collecting pre-loved toys and books from our very generous parents and children. We collected juice, marshmallows, fizzers, chips, biscuits, and other sweet treats from our BeNS families. On arrival, Linda Ngoma, the principal of Thoriso gave us a tour around the school. It was a humbling experience as she shared the challenges that they have faced but we were so impressed by the education that her little people receive,” said Gabi Pinker from BeNS

According to Pinker, they were treated to some singing by Thoriso school learners and loved the spirit with which the children sang and danced. “We responded by singing our ‘thank you’ song, which elicited much laughter from the children as we ‘boogey-woogied’ our way through the song. We handed over all our gifts and left, happy and fulfilled that we had made a small difference to a small school, which will make a big difference to the teachers and children,” Pinker added.

A birthday is always a chance to celebrate, but BeNS decided to celebrate its 10th birthday by giving back and helping those who make the world a better place for the young ones. Pinker expressed how grateful they are to have been afforded an opportunity to make a difference and thanked all the families and organisations that generously donated to help fulfill the cause.
