“We always try to assess our boxer’s strength mainly during the match and today many of our boxers won by Technical Knockout (TKO), and most of my boxers took the punches quite well, and most won by TKO.”

As one of the clubs with the most wins, Jersey Joe spilled the beans on what are some of their strategic moves “Our gameplan for today was to do stick and move, I always encourage them to not stand there and take damages because there’s life after boxing so it’s not a good idea to get hit that’s why we hit and run always,” Cindi said.

Siphesihle Mabaso, one of the boxers, said, “I was a bit nervous going into the fight but after my opponent’s first jab, my mind came back that I can also box. So, I’m feeling good, I almost thought of giving up but then I saw that he was tired then I took a chance.

“I am happy about my win because it boosted my confidence and morale. Also, I am still trying to find my fighting style, because this is my second match so I’m training and hoping to get there,” Siphesihle said

From the opening bell to the final round, the boxers delivered a series of adrenaline-pumping fights that showcased their technical prowess, agility and unwavering spirit, while the crowd kept erupting in cheers as they traded blows.

“We always tell our boxers to stay calm because most of the time they can be easily disturbed by the outside noises and we encourage them to always be disciplined.

“We also always try to foster teamwork because you can’t do boxing alone because even when training, a person will need a sparring partner and that partner you will get it from your friends, another thing is respect, and making sure that we all support each other.
