Pay it Forward is an act of kindness that involves individuals who do three random acts of kindness for others and aim to create a positive ripple effect of giving.

According to Dos Santos-Little, the learners decided on three simple acts of kindness. “The first act tested their culinary skills by making and handing out sandwiches and chocolates to pedestrians outside our school. The surprised smiles from the receivers were both humbling and treasured.

“Our second act of kindness was creating positivity pegs – each learner wrote affirmations on wooden pegs, which were handed out randomly to staff and students before our assembly. And our final act of was to acknowledge and appreciate those who keep us safe.”

After the launch of the Pay it Forward initiative, the Grade 6 learners and the rest of the school proposed a challenge to all the Crawford International Schools to join the revolution.

According to Dos Santos-Little, Pay it Forward aims to encourage everyone to embrace the incredible power of giving, and show each other that we care and that there is love, hope, and magic all around us while it creates one good deed at a time.

“There are so many ways for you to pay it forward. Look out for opportunities, be willing to help strangers, and give freely without expecting anything in return.”
