Witkoppen Clinic relaunches its mobile clinic after getting boosted by sponsors.
The Witkoppen Clinic launches its mobile clinic services, thanks to the generous support of the RES Foundation and Entruevest Impilo Foundation.
After facing Covid19 restrictions and financial issues, Witkoppen Clinic hopes the mobile clinic will continue to challenge the limited access to healthcare in underserved areas and communities facing mobility constraints due to financial difficulties. Witkoppen Clinic will again provide complete medical care right at the doorstep of those who need it most. “Our mobile clinic provided over 38,750 consultations between April 2015 and March 2020. Following on from this success, we look forward to the impact in the communities of the relaunched mobile clinic services” said Dr Jean Bassett, Executive Director of Witkoppen Clinic.
The mobile clinic will go to Witkoppen Clinic’s Orphaned and Vulnerable Children Site in Diepsloot once a week on Wednesdays.
The following services will be offered to infants and children from Diepsloot under 18:
- HIV counselling and testing services.
- Family planning services.
- Childhood immunizations.
- Infant and child acute medical services.
In addition, the mobile clinic will go to the Witkoppen Clinic’s OVC Site in Msawawa every other Thursday until the end of the year, starting 25 May 2023 until 23 November 2023. The following services will be offered to adults, children, and infants from Msawawa:
- HIV counselling and testing services.
- Family planning services.
- Childhood immunizations.
- Acute medical services.
