Husky Rescue South Africa hosts potjie competition

Community members and lovers of huskies grouped together to prepare a delicious potjie meals.

Community members and dog lovers cooked up a storm for a worthy cause.

Husky Rescue South Africa invited teams to put together unique and delicious potjie dishes for a fundraising cause where their donation went towards cooking for a dog at the haven.
A number of teams gathered for a fusion of flavours while enjoying the weather. Those who were unable to attend the event were able to sponsor a dog and support the event virtually.

Playing judge for the day, Ian Davies tasted the various potjie meals prepared throughout the day.
Winners of the competition were Queenie Prawn for their prawn and kipper potjie dish. Dainfern’s Col Cacchio got involved with prizes on the day. First prize won a R1000 voucher to the restaurant.

Founder of Husky Rescue South Africa, Joanne van Niekerk thanked participants for their support on the day.
“It’s been a successful day. We also had a lot of people who couldn’t make the event support us virtually, so we are very grateful for the support,” she said.
Other prizes on the day included team Potjie Boytjies for their team spirit and team ½ for the most original name. Each won a R500 voucher.
