Senior marketing manager at the shopping centre Caitlin de Jong said they often hosted the Cansa Shavathon as it was a great way to engage with the community.
“It’s a very dear cause to our, and our landlord’s, hearts. Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer. We had a Shavathon event earlier this year to see how it would go. We were able to raise over R2 000 so it’s great having the event here,” she said.

“November is when our second birthday actually is. It is also all the tenants’ second birthday here at Chartwell Corner, so this is a day we get involved with the community and try to raise funds for the Shavathon.”
