Question: Why is it important for the school to raise funds for cancer research?

Elizabeth Jackson: This gathering has a lot of special meaning because I have never been to a normal school for the last four years, so it’s a different experience. It’s a great idea considering I’ve lost two grandparents to it and I really hope it makes a difference.
Yomelela Nkuna: Cancer is deadly and has terrorised many families. To me this means a lot, I have a lot of friends who have died from cancer. It means a lot that our school appreciates the efforts and the hardships they are going through, it really resonates with me on a deep level and I think more schools should do this.
Roarke Bailey: Personally, it shows that the school supports awareness of one of the most deadly and infectious diseases in the world cancer, and it’s important to me because I think that’s an important value to have in my school.
Shekar Sewmohan: It’s to raise awareness about cancer because cancer is a very serious thing. I know my grandfather passed away three years ago because he had cancer, so I would say this thing is for him and everybody else who suffers from cancer.
Katherine van Blerk: I have a personal experience with cancer because my father had it. It is very important to me on a personal level that the cancer foundation gets the funding that they need for its treatments.
