A good balance is needed for university – Fourways student

Now a University of Johannesburg student, Heinz Klingenberg from Fourways looks forward to a new adventure of student life.

A new future awaits a Fourways High School alumnus as he prepares for student life at university.

Heinz Klingenberg completed his matric year with five distinctions and is ready to begin the next stage of his future at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) this year.
Upon receiving his final results at the school and while embracing friends and catching up with teachers, he received a phone call from the university confirming his acceptance. “I think it’s a different lifestyle and there is a lot more independence that comes with it as well. But I think you just need to learn to time manage and make sure that you’re prioritising the right things at the same time and also enjoy life,” he said.

“I’m going to be playing hockey at UJ this year as well and enjoy the campus life. I’ll be seeing former high school friends as well, so that will be great.”
He hoped to maintain a good balance of social life, sports and academics with the jump to university life.
To the current Grade 12 class at the school, he gave encouragement and advice to them as they navigate their final academic year.

“It’s crucial to work hard and not lose focus on what’s important. It’s important to have a good balance of sports, social life and academics at the same time. Learning how to time manage and knowing when to work and keeping your head down and working is very important.”
