National Certificate Vocational exams bring outstanding results from Curro learners

Curro Holdings congratulated their learners for their results in the National Certificate Vocational (NCV) matriculation exams.

Curro Holdings recently celebrated their learners’ contribution to the country’s vocational skills gap with their excellent results in the recent National Certificate Vocational (NCV) matriculation exams.

The NCV is a high standard, skill-focused qualification that runs parallel with the National Senior Certificate where instead of grades 10, 11 and 12, learners complete NVC levels two, three and four. These qualifications allow learners with a Grade 9 pass to make career choices and specialise from a young age.
It is here learners gain the knowledge needed in their area of specialisation as it provides them with valuable skills and workplace experience especially since it is a highly practical qualification. Good academic performance allows them access to further education including universities.

Curro celebrated their learners’ results, with learners who did not pass all their subjects in 2022 exams set to only repeat the failed subjects and not the full year.
Curro Holdings CEO, Cobus Loubser extended his congratulation to the learners for their outstanding results.
“It is no secret that South Africa, like the rest of the world, is experiencing an education crisis which requires the rapid development of vocational skills. We are extremely proud of our NCV learners and their results and cannot wait to see the vital contributions they make in the world of work,” he said.

“Curro has recognised this need and the NCV qualification aims to produce learners that can enter the workplace immediately.”
The NCV provides a portfolio of career-specific skills that means learners can enter the workplace immediately after their schooling career. Specialised skills are developed in areas where the country has a critical shortage. These include Information Technology and Computer Science, Engineering and Related Design, Electrical Infrastructure Construction, Process Instrumentation, Finance, Economics and Accounting and Tourism.
The independent education provider’s top NCV achiever is Payal Morar, completed the Information Technology and Computer Science NCV. She achieved six distinctions at an average of 87%.

These distinctions were:

  • 86% for English
  • 81% maths
  • 93% for computer programming
  • 89% for system analysis and design
