Region A commits to accelerating service delivery in Lions Park Informal Settlement

Community leader at Lions Park Informal Settlements said they were happy that City officials came to visit the area.

Region A director Abaigail Ndlovu promised service delivery in Lions Park (Thabo Mbeki) informal settlement after leading a ward-to-ward walkabout in the area located near Chartwell.

“The rain that we recently received has had a positive and negative impact on our communities. Most of our gravel roads were eroded making it difficult for motorists and emergency service vehicles to access our communities. Grass in most of our parks grew and makes it difficult for the young ones to play.

“I’ve already instructed our JRA and City Parks teams in the region to come and help fix the roads and cut the grass in the parks in a few days to come. I can assure you that this will be done in a matter of days. The aim of this walkabout programme is to deal with matters like these ones.”
A community leader in the area Thulani Molefe said they were happy that City officials came to visit the area.

“As community leaders, we work closely with the City to address different issues. We are grateful that they came to identify things that need to be fixed in the community.”
