Two armed robbers receive their sentence

The arrests of two criminals back in 2020 concludes with their sentencing at the Randburg Magistrate Court which left the Station Commander of the Randburg Police Station, Brigadier Michelle Jones, applauding those who made it possible.

Two men who were recently charged with armed robbery received their sentences at the Randburg Magistrate Court on October 14.

Back in May 2020, Thabani Nkosi and Lungelo Sithole, robbed an individual of his personal belongings while using a firearm. The incident which took place near the off-ramp of the N1 freeway by William Nicol Road, saw security officers catch them during a pursuit.

Detective Sergeant Michael Makhopa from Rand police, who has been working on the case since the arrest of the criminals, was more than happy to hear that the criminals were going to pay for their actions in prison.

During their final visit to the Randburg Magistrates Court, both individuals were given 15 years’ imprisonment and were both declared unfit to possess any firearms.

According to the spokesperson of the Randburg Police Station, Captain Makgowanyana Maja, the Station Commander, Brigadier Michelle Jones, praised all those who were involved in the imprisonment of the criminals including the security officials.

“We encourage our community members to always report any suspicious behaviours. The more reports we get, the fewer crime activities will be shown in our area,” said Maja.
