Paulshof pub singer has hopes of releasing her first EP soon
Lyla Faye is a frequent performing artist at the Off the Grid pub in Paulshof where she winds down the weekend for attendees.
Local singer Lyla Faye still has the Fourways community in her heart after moving out of the suburb and continues to perform at Off the Grid in Paulshof.
“I’ve been singing at Off the Grid once every month on a Sunday afternoon,” said Faye who treated the crowd at the pub with a Heritage Day special this year with music that made one feel proudly African.
“For these types of occasions, I do covers of songs so that everyone can dance and sing along. It’s something that people would be familiar with. However, I do write my own music as well.”
Faye has been in the entertainment and singing industry since she was a child, and began studio sessions at the age of seven years old. She started getting paid for her craft in 2016 when she started performing live.
Looking to the future, Faye said she would release an EP soon which would feature her compositions.
