ACDP chief whip in the City of Johannesburg calls on justice cluster to apprehend killers of pastor Vincent Skhakhane

ACDP Joburg caucus extends its heart-felt condolences to the family of the late pastor, the congregants, and the residents of Diepsloot.

The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) in the City of Johannesburg has condemned the brutal killing of Diepsloot pastor Vincent Skhakhane on October 14.

The chief whip of the party and former MMC for Community Development Ronald Harris said, “The ACDP in the City of Johannesburg notes with utter shock, dismay, and disgust the killing of a pastor, wounding of two congregants and the armed robbery of other worshippers this past October 15 in Diepsloot.

“We accept that we all do not worship in the same churches and we have different belief systems but the depths which human beings have descended to is unacceptable.”
He added there was no respect for human life, basic human values and the law.
“It is unacceptable that places of worship be turned into slaughterhouses and soft targets for deviants.
“This cannot be allowed in a country where freedom of religion and freedom of association is enshrined in our Constitution. We call on the entire justice cluster to do all in its power to apprehend these criminals and to deal with them harshly within the prescripts of the law.”

He said the ACDP Joburg caucus extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of the late pastor, the congregants, and the residents of Diepsloot.
