Bryanston thief found guilty

Third criminal, who was linked to a series of criminal activities which occurred at the homesteads of Bryanston, receives 12 years.

Ayanda Bandla, who was one of the three individuals that terrorised the homesteads of the Bryanston area, was recently found guilty of a series of crimes involving theft.

With years of intense investigation, Detective Sergeant Michael Makhopa and his team successfully managed to collect enough evidence to convict Bandla, who has been linked to a series of crimes committed in Bryanston around the corner of Main and Witkoppen roads.

Bandla’s two accomplices were arrested after robbing a motorist years prior to Bandla’s sentencing. The two pleaded guilty and were separately sentenced to 15 and 20 years imprisonment in December 2020.

Randburg Magistrate’s Court sentenced Bandla to serve 12 years.

The acting Randburg Police Station Commander, Colonel Solomon Mudau, thanked his team and urged community members to report any suspicious behaviour or activities to their nearest police station.
