September 2 marked a day when preschool learners got to show appreciation for the people who help them in their daily life at home.
Junior Colleges Fairfield hosted the Helpers’ Day picnic where learners brought snacks to share with their helpers. The morning consisted of fun games such as musical statues, a fashion show where the learners got to show off their outfits, and finally the picnic.
Teacher Frances Spencer said there was a great turnout since it was the first picnic they were having since Covid-19.
“We are celebrating the people who help us every single day at home. These ladies are very important in our children’s lives, they tell them all about school. The learners want to show their helpers everything they do at school all day long.
“Today is really just showing them appreciation and thanking them for all the things they do for us, and how they make our lives easier,” she said.
The next event on the agenda at the school is Grandparents’ Day on September 9.
