Live Life Always collects more than 100 bags of litter along Jukskei River

LLA Co-founder said Jukskei River and other local rivers were getting dirtier every day and this will have detrimental effects on environment and water species in the river.

Despite dwindling financial support to help them keep open spaces, local parks and rivers clean, Fourways-based non-profit organisation continues to offer its voluntary cleaning service without fail in and around Fourways.

Live Life Always non-profit organisation volunteers collected more than 100 bags of litter on the banks of Jukskei River in Glenferness on August 27 with the help of some members of the community.

The organisation’s co-founder Lovemore Robson said the Jukskei River and other local rivers were getting dirtier every day and this would have detrimental effects on the environment and water species in the river.

Live Life Always volunteers continue to keep local open spaces and rivers litter free.

“The state of our rivers is alarming and if don’t do something now, our future generation will not have rivers. We need to educate people about the dangers of litter and illegal dumping to the environment. Today we collected more than 100 bags of litter along the river.”

He urged local communities and businesses to support the work that the organisation’s volunteers do to keep Fourways and surrounding neighbourhoods clean.

“Our volunteers have dedicated themselves to cleaning parks, rivers and open spaces in different parts of Fourways. We call on members of the community and business to lend us a helping hand by donating money to keep up this good work that they are doing.”
