Miss Umoja 2021 winner enjoys serving the community and helping others

The outgoing Miss Umoja thanked Daily Bread for giving her an opportunity to serve people.

My name is Sinethemba Mavuso. I am 16 years old and I’m currently doing Grade 11 at Diepsloot Combined School.

I am a young ambitious girl who grew up in the dusty and narrow streets of Diepsloot.

Last year, I won Miss Umoja 2021 beauty pageant organised by the Fourways-based non-profit organisation, Daily Bread. It was a great opportunity to grab when someone told me about the pageant.
Being Miss Umoja has taught me to never doubt myself and it also boosted my confidence. I must confess that it was an intimidating and hard thing to do because of my body size but I told myself that I can do this and I eventually did it.

I’ve learned that if you don’t believe in yourself no one will. As my reign comes to an end soon, I would like to thank everyone who supported me throughout my journey as Miss Umoja 2021.

Being Miss Umoja taught me the importance of serving others and giving support to those in need.

I also want to wish the future Miss Umoja 2022 all the best in their journey and to the contestants, I would like to encourage them to always believe in themselves and showcase their talents.

I also like to encourage young people to not give up on their dreams and goals in life. It is possible to achieve your dreams if you believe in yourself.
