Women in the community celebrated by local NPO

Women’s Day was celebrated early in Kyalami thanks to an event hosted by the Women’s Empowerment League.

A local NPO hosted an event to celebrate women in business and helping the community.

The Women’s Empowerment League (Wel) held the event just before the start of Women’s Month on July 30 in Kyalami.

The organisation was formed in 2020 by a group of women and assists the community by providing food parcels, medicine and general tips and advice to women in becoming professionals in their chosen field.

The morning consisted of speeches from guest speakers as well as gift bags handed out by another local NPO, Connect to Feed. After all the speeches, attendees could view and shop for food, crafts and beauty items at stalls outside the venue.

The Fourways Review journalist Khomotso Makgabutlane was at the day’s celebrations to capture the event.
