Local non-profit organisation collects 67 bags of litter to commemorate Mandela Day

Co-founder of LLA said the organisation recently relaunched its Mondays cleaning campaign following its suspension earlier this year.

A local non-profit organisation that helps clean up streets and parks in and around Fourways, Live Life Always (LLA) embarked on a cleaning campaign to commemorate 67 minutes for Mandela Day.

The organisation’s volunteers were joined by members of the community and collected 67 bags of litter around Fourways Crossing.

Co-founder of the organisation Lovemore Robson said, “We hope that this Mandela Day cleaning campaign will help us raise awareness about irresponsible and illegal dumping. Illegal dumping and littering is on the rise in our communities these days and we hope that the little we do can inspire behavioural change in members of the community.

“We’ve recently took a decision to relaunch our Monday cleaning campaign around Fourways Crossing every Monday. This is after we’ve decided to put our weekly cleaning campaigns on ice earlier this year because of the lack of sponsorship.”
