Community members urged to donate a blanket for the needy
Marketing manager at LRA said they were proud to collaborate with the Rotary Club to make a difference in other people’s lives.
Lonehill Residents Association joined hands with the Rotary Club of Morningside to help keep less fortunate people in different communities warm this winter.
Rotary Club is a global network of 1.4 million neighbours, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe.
Marketing manager at the association Shelley Miller said they were proud to collaborate with the Rotary Club to make a difference in other people’s lives.
“The Rotary blanket drive is in its 15th year and over the past years the Morningside branch has distributed more than 3 000 blankets to disaster victims such as the recent KZN floods, the Knysna fire, Mozambique floods and many informal settlement fires here in Gauteng, in addition to distributing to other beneficiaries.
“We have an extremely generous community and following requests from our residents for organisations to support, we have decided to get involved and support Rotary South Africa with their blanket drive.”
She encouraged members of the community to lend a helping hand by purchasing a blanket that cost R85 each.
