18 nabbed by Douglasdale police over the long weekend

DOUGLASDALE – The long weekend saw a number of suspects in the policing precinct arrested for a number of crimes, and are soon to appear in Randburg Magistrate's Court.

On the weekend of March 18 to 21, Douglasdale police conducted operations in the area which saw 18 suspects arrested.

Spokesperson of the Douglasdale police Captain Mpho Tshetlhane said, “The suspects’ crimes included possession of suspected stolen property, assault common, dealing in liquor without a licence, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, theft, drinking in public and shoplifting.”
The suspects would appear in the the Randburg Magistrate’s Court soon.

In light of the arrests, police have continued to encourage community members to keep reporting all criminal activities in their areas by phoning police on 011 699 1300 or 08600 10111.
Alternatively, they could use the MySAPS app to send anonymous tip-offs or go to the nearest police station.
