PAULSHOF – Rivonia Recreation Club sees close results in the finals.

The annual Rivonia Tennis Championships came to an end as the finals weekend saw a number of winners in closely-contested matches.

The semi-finals took place on March 10 and the finals on March 11 at the Rivonia Recreation Tennis Club. The morning saw the finals of the women’s and men’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

Karyn Hambridge won the women’s singles final with Danielle Moffat runner-up. Warwick Spence won the men’s singles final against Hans Spangenberg in a very tight match.
The manager of the club Matthew Bayley said, “We have had an amazing turnout for the finals in terms of spectators and players. Everything was a success and I cannot wait for the next event.”
The mixed doubles final was also a tight affair but was edged by Spangenberg and Carmen Spence.
