18 injured in three-way taxi collision on William Nicol Drive

FOURWAYS – ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said the patients were treated on the scene of the collision before being taken to surrounding hospitals.

This morning (February 25), 18 people were injured in a rear-end collision involving three taxis in Fourways on William Nicol Drive.

Russel Meiring, communications officer for ER24, said “ER24 and other services arrived to find the three taxis parked on the left-hand side of the road. Several passengers were now seated on the side of the road.

“Medics assessed the patients and found that eighteen people had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found.”

Local authorities arrived on the scene for further investigations. The patients were treated and then transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
