Biker seriously injured after being hit by a taxi in Fourways

FOURWAYS – The man was transported by ER24 to the nearest hospital for urgent care.

A man, believed to be in his 20s, was seriously injured when he was knocked off his motorbike by a taxi at the Main and Witkoppen road intersection in Fourways on January 23.

An ER24 Vision Tactical medic was on his way home when he came across the incident. “On scene, a man in his 20s was found lying a few metres away from his motorbike in the middle of the intersection near the taxi,” said ER24’s communications officer, Russel Meiring.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained injuries to his arm, leg and chest – leaving him in a serious condition.

“The man was treated and provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to [hospital] for urgent care,” said Meiring.

The driver of the taxi escaped injury. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
